Collector's Eye | A Conversation and Book Signing with Frazier King

The Griffin Museum is pleased to present an afternoon of conversation with artist and collector Frazier King and Griffin Museum's Executive Director Crista Dix. The pair will talk about collaborating with artists, supporting careers through collecting, finding your vision and living with works you love. Frazier worked with Schilt Publishing to create a book featuring many of the works in his collection. Fall Youth Program: Building a Story Through Photography with Meghan Ireland

Offered as an extension to Storytelling Through Photography, this course will aim to help students delve deeper into developing a body of work, and understanding how to curate a photo series. Students will learn and discuss how to craft and compose meaningful images, and tell a compelling story through their photos. Please note that Storytelling Through Photography is not a pre-requisite course.The use of any camera that reflects your voice is encouraged -- equipment may include SLR's, DSLR's, point & shoot cameras, instant film or phones. Finding Your Vision with Alex Webb and Rebecca Norris Webb

Introduction to Handmade Photobook Binding with Eliot Dudik

Join us July 22nd - July 26th, from 10am - 4pm for Introduction to Handmade Photobook Binding with Eliot Dudik. In this 5-day intensive course, we will begin with editing and sequencing techniques for the photographs you have brought with you to the Griffin Museum that represent a project you have been toying with or deeply engaged in. We will discuss strategies for approaching an edit and sequence for differing types of work that tease out meaning and/or narrative.
