DCF - Foster families

The Department of Children and Families (DCF) works in partnership with families and communities to keep children safe from abuse and neglect. In most cases, DCF is able to provide supports and services to keep children safe with parents or family members. When necessary, DCF provides foster care or finds new permanent families for children through kinship, guardianship or adoption.

First Congregational Church

First Congregational Church is part of the United Church of Christ (U.C.C.), which is a liberal Protestant denomination. We embrace that identity enthusiastically. It is not a political designation but a theological one. Our congregation is made up of people who were raised in a variety of religious traditions including the UCC. We affirm the ideal that Christians do not always have to agree, in order to love God and live together in communion.

Friends of Winchester Hospital

The Friends of Winchester Hospital is an auxiliary group that for more than 60 years has given time and financial support to improve the lives of patients and their families in our community. Two of the group’s most unique projects are the Holiday Rose distribution, where the Friends hand-deliver a rose to every hospital patient on Christmas Eve, and the Read to Me Program, which since 1997 has given tens of thousands of storybooks to new parents to share with their newborns, as a way to emphasize the importance of reading to children.

Hope Christian Church

We are a non-denominational, evangelical, Bible-based church founded by Winchester residents in 1993. We come from many different backgrounds including from no religious background at all. We’re from different countries and different cultures, but one thing binds us all together: we strive to follow Jesus Christ, in whom we have placed our faith as Savior and Lord. A key part of our faith is the belief that the Bible is the word of God and holds within it God’s revelation of Himself, His nature, His purpose, His plans, His expectations for all people, and His glorious gospel.
